HAHA! I’m not dead! Although, waiting this long to post isn’t irregular, per say. I’m just really good at procrastinating. I’ve had this post in my drafts for a while, so yeah.
Okay. Get ready for… I don’t know. A review of everything in SSB 3DS.
Smash
-Solo
Solo is basically just from 1v1 to 1v1v1v1 or 2v2, 1v3, 2v1, etc. Basically, this is what people think of when someone says “Super Smash Bros”. There are 9 difficulties for computers, and they start at level 3. There are also two different core gameplay types: Time and Stock. The ‘Time’ mods is a set amount of time, and whoever has the most points (kills – falls) at the end, wins. Stock, on the other hand (the other Master Hand :D), is a set amount of lives, and whoever outlasts everyone else wins.
There are a ton of rules you can mess with: Time v Stock, Time/Stock Limit, Customizations (fighters created in custom), handicap (damage % fighters start with), damage ratio (how far people are launched depending on their damage %), stage choice (random/choose), items, how much time for Stock Battles (starts at infinite, can change), teammate damage, pause function, score display, damage gauge, and the ‘suicide’ penalty (if you jump off the stage w/o a person pushing/hitting you).
This is also the mode that if you need to unlock characters, they will appear for you to battle after a certain amount of battles.
-Group
This is basically just solo, but with other people that are close by with their own copy of the game.
-Rules
Another place to change the rules mentioned in ‘Solo’.
Online
-With Friends
Playing Smash with friends registered to your 3DS friends list. I don’t have any experience with this; I have no friends… lol. At least ones with 3DSs. You can host a game or join someone else’s.
-With Anyone
—>For Fun
—–<Smash
This mode is basically regular Smash, but with other people instead of CPU’s. The rules are the same and everything. Stages, Items. Wins and losses are not recorded.
—–<Team Smash
Basically Team Smash from regular Smash, but with other people instead of CPU’s. Items and Stages and rules and everything. Wins and losses are not recorded.
—>For Glory
As a general rule for anything in this category, wins and losses are recorded, and there are no items. Also, you’re playing on ‘Omega’ Form stages.
—–<Smash
Regular smash, but with the rules mentioned above.
—–<1-on-1
A duel with you and one other person. Regular 1v1, but with the rules mentioned above.
—–<Team Smash
Regular 2v2, but with the rules mentioned above.
—–<Records
A list of all of your battles, wins, top-half finishes, last-place finishes, win rate %, win rate % of last 10 battles, and win rate % of last 50 battles. They have a separate stats for Combined, Smash, Team, and 1-on-1.
-Conquest
Basically, you fight battles for points for your team against members of other teams. At the end of the allotted time, a winner will be announced.
-Spectate
Watch an online Smash match.
Challenge
Just various tasks to complete to get rewards and to integrate into the game better. I would probably still just be playing regular Smash without them. There are different panels of challenges you unlock as you go along.
Smash Run
-Solo
You start in a giant stage/labyrinth/thing with zero stats. You run around, attack enemies, jump, and find treasure chests to upgrade your stats for a total of five minutes. After the time limit is up, there’s a final smash challenge (1v1v1v1, 2v2, who can defeat the most monsters, etc.) where the stat upgrades you collected are what your character has. Whoever finishes the final smash challenge with the most points, wins.
-Group
An online version of Solo with people immediately around you.
-Custom
With this feature, you can unlock different power-ups and such to use during the labyrinth part of the Run. Also, this is how you’d make Mii fighters.
-Select Music
Select the track you want to play while you Smash Run.
StreetPass
-StreetSmash
When you pass people using StreetPass with SSB, you get a ‘Hit’. You then fight these ‘Hits’ as tokens that smack each other off-stage.
-Practice
StreetSmash with CPU’s.
-Profile
Decide your name, catchphrase, and character token.
-Records
Shows you the gold earned and trophies won through StreetSmash.
-Tutorial
A tutorial on how to play StreetSmash.
Wii U
You can exchange fighters made in Custom or use your 3DS as a game controller for Wii U SSB.
Games & More
-Solo
—>Classic
You fight so many battles (I think 6) to get gold, trophies, and upgrades. Eventually, you get to Master Hand, Master Hand and Crazy Hand, and if you play the difficulty level at at least 5.1, Master Core will burst out of Master Hand.
—>All-Star
Fight against sets of all the characters in different stages, depending in what time period they were created. You have one life and you keep the same damage % through all the battles.
—>Training
Practice everything. You can spawn in items and CPU’s, change damage %, and all kinds of crazy stuff.
—>Stadium
—–<Multi-Man Smash
10-Man Smash
Nine Mii fighters plus a giant version of your character come out to fight you. Defeat them in the shortest amount of time.
100-Man Smash
An 100-Man army mostly composed of Mii Fighters fight you. Defeat them in the shortest amount of time.
3-Minute Smash
Defeat as many of the army as you can in a 3-Minute time limit.
Rival Smash
Defeat more of the army than a CPU rival.
Endless Smash
Defeat as many Mii Fighters as you can before they kill you. No time limit.
Cruel Smash
Epic, buff Mii Fighters are out to destroy you. Defeat as many as you can before they do the same to you. I’ve not defeated one fighter yet…
—–<Target Blast
Basically, beat up a bomb as much as you can in ten seconds, before launching it a tower reminiscent of Angry Birds. There are sometimes trophies and power-ups in the rubble.
—–<Home-Run Contest
Same concept as Target Blast, but you’re just trying to launch a sandbag as far a possible.
-Group
The modes are played with people immediately near you with a copy of the game.
—>All-Star
Same as Solo All-Star, but you have teammates.
—>Multi-Man
Same as Solo Multi-Man Smash, but with teammates.
-Custom
Just another way to customize characters and make Mii Fighters.
-Vault
—>Trophies
Trophies you’ve collected throughout the challenges you’ve completed. You can also buy trophies with gold you’ve collected and play Trophy Rush. Trophy Rush is a game where you destroy wooden blocks and trophy blocks for gold and trophies.
—>Album
The place where you find snapshots you’ve taken. I actually don’t know how to take snapshots, and I Googled it also, so if you know, could you possibly tell me?
—>Replays
This is the place where all the replays of the Smash battles you’ve saved are. I actually know how to save replays, just not snapshots 😛
—>Sounds
You can listen to any music or voices of characters you’ve unlocked.
—>Records
A bunch of stats.
—>Tips
A collected list of all those messages they have while you’re waiting for Smash to load.
-Options
Here you can change the following five things: Controls, Sound, Character Outline, Damage Display, and Internet Options.
Controls is obvious. You can change what buttons do what.
In Sound, you can individually change the sound levels of music, sound effects, and voices.
In Character Outline, you can change how dark/big the outlines of the characters are to make them easier to see.
In Damage Display, you can choose where the damage % will show up.
In Internet Options, you can change Spotpass, Data received from friends, share info (info sent to Nintendo), broadcast (spectator mode for battles), and profile.
——————-
Wow. So basically, that’s it. This took three days of off-and-on writing to complete.
-0-
Plus the time I procrastinated, which would be another 3 days… Ouch.
