Comic Books I’ve Read This Week — Week 2

So!

Week 2! I read some of the Civil War comics, and have decided that I’m only going to read the main Civil War book. There are just too many, and I don’t think I’d be able to take it. Also, there aren’t that many this week. I keep starting books and never finishing them. *cough* bad habit *cough*

1. Black Panther: Civil War.

— Rating: 2/5

— I don’t really like the Civil War arc. It seems rather… disconnected. I really just want to get through it so I can have something to compare Captain America: Civil War to.

2. Batman & Robin: Vol. 2: Batman vs. Robin. [Classic]

— Rating: 4/5

— I haven’t read the first volume, so I missed a bit of the story, but altogether it was pretty good. The Joker’s back!

3. The Joker: Death of the Family. [The New 52!]

— Rating: 5/5

— Awesome. This basically all the issues in the series that pertain to the ‘Death of the Family’ arc. It’s probably my favorite arc ever. Period. I’ll probably end up buying this for myself.

And yeah. That was it. I have about five that I’m in the middle of, though, so next week will be bigger.

…And sorry that this didn’t get posted yesterday like it was supposed to. I didn’t have enough time…

Comic Books I’ve Read This Week — Week 1

So.

I figured that instead of making a post for each individual comic book, I’d just give names, ratings, links (to Amazon), and possibly a few comments. It’s just a way to incorporate comic books into the blog without them being overpowering. I don’t know.

1. Cable & Deadpool: Vol. 1: If Looks Could Kill. [Classic]

— Rating: 3/5

— It was rather dry. I love both the title characters, but I liked Cable better in Cable & X-Force (Marvel NOW!).

2. Cable & Deadpool: Vol. 2: The Burnt Offering. [Classic]

— Rating: 4/5

— I like the plain Deadpool comics better, but this is still pretty cool.

3. Deadpool vs. The Marvel Universe. [Classic]

— Rating: 5/5

— I read this before I found out it was actually the last volume of Cable & Deadpool… The book was very wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey.

4. Batman: Volume 3: Death of the Family. [The New 52!]

— Rating: 5/5

— The ‘Death of the Family’ arc is probably one of, if not, my favorites. It’s also got the Joker almost cutting peoples faces off…

5. Batgirl: Volume 3: Death of the Family. [The New 52!]

— Rating: 5/5

— The Joker wants to get married? This is probably my favorite book in the Death of the Family arc.

6. Nightwing: Volume 3: Death of the Family. [The New 52!]

— Rating: 4/5

— Sensing a pattern? Anyway, this one wasn’t as great as the rest, but it was okay. I don’t think I really like the Nightwing comics.

7. The Road to Civil War: A Marvel Comics Event. [Classic… I guess. It’s unlikely they’ll reboot and entire event]

— Rating: 3/5

— Honestly, I’m only reading this (the Civil War arc) so that I can have something to contrast against the upcoming Captain America: Civil War. It’s okay so far, but I like to keep my politics and comic books separate. Currently, my favorite character in the arc is Namor the Sub-mariner, if that tells you anything.

8. Deadpool Classic: Volume 2. [Classic]

— Rating: 5/5

— Honestly, Deadpool is probably my favorite comic book character at the moment (but I haven’t read any Gambit comics yet, so I’ll have to see). My library didn’t have Vol. 1, but at the beginning there was a synopsis of the first volume, so it’s all good. Weasel’s pretty cool, but I don’t know.

I read a lot of Deadpool comics this week, and that pattern will continue until I finish Classic Deadpool and Cable & Deadpool. Also, there are a ton of Civil War comics, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to stomach them.

Do you guys have any comic book suggestions?

Bye, y’all! (oh no. an exclamation mark. I must be unusually happy today o_o)

Geeky Sculpey Stuff

So.

photo 1 (1)

I made more Sculpey things last night. I was bored. Like, really bored. After that. I watched the second Pirates of the Caribbean movie for the first time. It was awesome. But, anyway.

photo 2 (1)

More lightsaber pens! The original post for these is HERE. I honestly like these better than the ones I made originally. I actually looked at a lightsaber this time around. However, these are Christmas presents for people, so I am not going to use them. 😦

photo 3 (2)

Next up: Yes, I made Loki out of Sculpey. I am burdened with glorious purpose and all that. I used and x-acto knife, and he looks a lot cooler in real life. I took all the pictures with my phone which has a terrible camera.

photo 4 (1)

Flash and Deadpool earrings. This is not just one set. I made a Flash set and a Deadpool set, but I am wearing the Deadpool ones and didn’t feel like taking them both off.

photo 5

Loki’s scepter and a leaf. I was going to turn the leaf into a pin and stick it on my bag (ya know. Like those cloak pins from the Lord of the Rings), and I still might, but it didn’t turn out how I wanted it to, so yeah.

So yeah. I’m pretty sure that was it.

Bye.

Updated Marvel Movie News

I’m going to try to post all the upcoming movies. Okay. Let’s go.

Note: this will have some writing from my previous post on Marvel movies, but there has just been so much since then!

The Avengers: Age of Ultron — May 1, 2015

So. Age of Ultron. Have you guys seen the trailer? If you haven’t you need to! It looks so creepy… Though, Ultron looks amazing!

Ant Man — July 17, 2015

In my humble opinion, I think they should’ve made this movie before Avengers 2 because of Vision and Ultron, but whatever. It seems, this movie is going to be about the second Ant Man, Scott Lang, rather than the first, Hank Pym. I haven’t done much with Ant Man, though, so I won’t be able to tell if the movie is comics canon or not.

Fantastic Four — August 7, 2015

This is going to be a reboot. I ‘m kinda happy about that. I mean, it was obvious, but still, it’d be creepy after Captain America.

Deadpool — February 12, 2016

Deadpool!! I have been waiting for this FOREVER!

Captain America: Civil War — May 6, 2016

Okay. So, they’re starting the Civil War timeline. I am super excited about this, even though it’s kinda sad. I’ve only read about it on the wiki. Supposedly it will be more about the government overseeing the superheroes rather than the superheroes forcibly revealing their secret identities.

X-Men: Apocalypse — May 27, 2016

Apocalypse! Massive movie. I can’t wait!

Doctor Strange — November 4, 2016

Supposedly, Benedict Cumberbatch is playing Doctor Strange!

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 — May 5, 2017

Thor 3: Ragnarok — July 28, 2017

Ragnarok. 0_0 According to Norse Mythology, the Apocalypse! Scary.

The Runaways — 2017?

No one really knows what is going to happen with this. It’s likely, however, that the script may get turned into a TV show.

Wolverine 3 — March 3, 2017

Fantastic Four 2 — July 14, 2017

Black Panther — November 3, 2017

This’ll be fun.

Avengers: Infinity War: Part I — May 4, 2018

Oh, yes! I have been waiting for this for so long! I read the Infinity Gauntlet last summer, but I haven’t read the Infinity War yet. Is this going to be the Infinity Gauntlet in part?

Captain Marvel — July 6, 2018

Captain Marvel is going to be Carol Danvers, but that’s about all that’s known as of now!

The Inhumans — November 2, 2018

I don’t know much about this, so I’ll be reading a lot of comic books soon!

Avengers: Infinity War: Part 2 — May 3, 2019

The second part.

There are some Marvel TV shows coming out also.

– Luke Cage

– Agent Carter

– Jessica Jones

– Daredevil

– Iron Fist

While I was writing this, some stupid difficulties occurred. I’m pretty sure it’s my fault, but I don’t know. Anyway, if anything is wrong or doesn’t make sense, that would be why. I tried to go over it, but you know.

Bye.

‘Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe’ Comic Summary/Review

So.

81GMUwoP7QL

Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe. Ouch.

Spoilers, Sweetie!

Note: If you’re super scared about our ‘hero’, this does take place in an alternate universe! *phew*

This comic is basically what the title says it is.

Deadpool gets taken into a mental institution where Psycho-man is trying to mind control everyone to take over the world. Psycho-man does something to Deadpool’s mind. However, Deadpool fights it, and another voice surfaces in his head, knocking out all the other voices. The voice tells him to kill all the other super-people (whether they are human or not), for they do not see the world as Deadpool does. The merc then goes on a killing spree; killing all the super-people (is there a better name for this?), even the cosmic entities. However, while this has been happening, Taskmaster was hired to kill Deadpool before he could kill anyone else. Deadpool kills Taskmaster, then opens a portal to the other universes. He goes into the one that leads into our world. It leads into a Marvel conference room where people are writing the Deadpool comic. Deadpool (Dreadpool) turns to the reader, and utters the words, “I’ll find you soon enough.”

Wow.

Okay, that was one of the first comics I’ve read that would be put in the ‘horror’ genre. (Does Batman: Vol. 3: Death of the Family count?) This is the first volume in what is called the Deadpool Killogy, which I am certainly going to read.

This one was definitely awesome, but was pretty gory. Note the parental advisory on the cover. LOL.

Bye.

Marvel Comics — Days of Future Past

So.

61s7EqhPIHL

With the relatively new X-Men movie that come out, I decided to read the comic book(s) it was based off of.

If you read the one I did, it basically is X-Men issues 138-143. It basically starts with Jean Grey’s death and Cyclops’ exit. The character of Kathrine Pryde (Sprite) is then introduced. From what I can tell, she was pretty much created for the Days of Future Past story. Then, Nightcrawler has some issues with his soul being stolen by his adopted mother? Doctor Strange comes and helps with the situation — which was really an elaborate misunderstanding. Then, some other random stuff happens with the Wendigo, and we finally get into Days of Future Past. Now, the Days of Future Past from the comics is TOTALLY COMPLETELY different than the movie, but I really recommend reading it. Finally, Kitty has some fight with a ‘Demon’ by herself, and then it ends.

Overall I’d say it’s pretty good. I got it pretty much just because of the movie. I took a while to get to the real DOFP stuff; most of the book was just introducing the Kitty Pryde character.

DEADPOOL MOVE!!!!

Okay. So a while ago, I saw the Deadpool test footage on YouTube that was leaked. I had looked around, and it really didn’t look like MARVEL or whoever was going to green light the project, so I kinda gave up on it (I’m so sorry please Deadpool don’t kill me no). Two seconds ago, I looked up the Deadpool movie on Wikipedia. It said the movie was set to release on

FEBRUARY 12, 2016!!!!!

I kinda panicked and jumped up and down, ‘cuz’ I thought they weren’t doing it. Yay. Deadpool is awesome.

They are supposed to completely reboot the character. Honestly, Deadpool doesn’t have giant katana blades in his arms. How would they fit? But, that’s another post 🙂

Yeah this was just a quick post for my happiness. Don’t judge.

Upcoming and Possible Marvel Movies

Hey guys!

So I am really getting impatient for the next Marvel movie, so I’m blogging to relieve the stress.

The most recent movie that came out was Guardians of the Galaxy. No more movies are coming out until March 2015, so I’m sad.

Fantastic Four — March 6, 2015

So. Another Fantastic Four movie. From what I understand, this is going to be a reboot, not a continuation. I kind of assumed that when I heard they were making it, and I’m happy about that, because the last one that came out was a while ago (and the Human Torch was played be Chris Evans, AKA Captain America. Talk about messed up.). They have the cast picked out, and I assume by now they finished shooting a while ago.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron — May 1, 2015

I already have a full post dedicated to this here.

Ant Man — July 17, 2015

In my humble opinion, I think they should’ve made this movie before Avengers 2 because of Vision and Ultron, but whatever. Screenwriters have been hired for:

-Iron Fist

-Blade

‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ New Team Members

Marvel Animated Movies 2014

The Avengers team for ‘Avengers 2: Age of Ultron’ is going to expand! I know, I was super happy at what I found out.

So, apart from the Avengers from ‘Assemble’ (Hulk, Ironman, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, and Hawkeye), there are three more confirmed characters to be added.

Quicksilver.

I was super hyped when I found this out. I’ve seen X-Men: Days of Future Past, and I really liked the Quicksiver character in that. Sadly, the movie rights to X-Men and the Avengers are owned by different companies, so it was not going to be the same actor ( sad face ). Quicksilver showed up in the last credits scene in Captain America: Winter Soldier, so it was pretty obvious they were going to expand on his character soon enough.

Scarlet Witch.

As said above, if you’ve seen Captain America: Winter Soldier, you’ll know Scarlet Witch will be expanded upon also. Her powers look so awesome. She hasn’t been in any X-Men movies, which is kinda sad, because she is pretty cool, but yeah.

Vision.

This is pretty interesting. In the comics, Vision was created by Ant Man, but since he hasn’t really been introduced, they might have to change his back story. Actually, the Ant Man movie isn’t even scheduled until after Avengers 2. I am intrigued on how ( or if ) they will play the romance between Scarlet Witch and Vision.

Joss Whedon said that the Ultron back story will have to be changed ( again, because of the lack of Ant Man ).

Will Falcon be joining? I mean, his wings broke, right? Can they ( whoever ‘they’ is ) fix them?

Will War Machine ( or in this case, Iron patriot ) be joining?

Overall, (at least from what I’ve read) the movie looks like it’s gonna be great!

Avengers 2: Age of Ultron is set to release to theaters on May 1, 2015.
